Work completed while in the role of
Associate Creative Director at CCA/Hotchalk
Based in the progressive city of Portland, Oregon, this university is a leader in the field of education. My team and I were in charge of creating outward facing marketing that reflects Concordia Portland’s College of Education unique positioning. With two main online education programs (MEd and EdD degrees) that needed to be highlighted in the National Market, the goal was to speak to educators across the country about these degrees in a way the rest of the competition hasn’t been able to do.
We created a whimsical and approachable brand system. As associate creative director at HotChalk, I took the lead in concept direction, art direction, and design of the work showcased here. Working with a relatively small creative team made up of a senior copywriter, a UI/UX designer, and 3 junior designers, we created a large set of materials that appeared throughout the prospective student’s introduction and journey to this leading brand.
Some of the highlighted materials created were stop motion animation ads for their social media channels, a welcome kit that was mailed to accepted students, a national print & digital ad campaign, and a few ebooks used as thought leadership pieces. All materials where created under the brand style guidelines I established.
